Hi- welcome to my blog!
I’m Jas Singh, accounting and finance instructor at Simon Fraser University and the University of the Fraser Valley. I first started teaching as a Private Instructor in September 2015 with one (yes, ONE) student. Since then, I’ve tacked on three subjects to my repertoire (Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Intro to Finance) and worked my way up to about fifty students per semester. It has been a rapid but exciting venture into the teaching world and I’m still loving every minute of it!
In my old life, I was an accountant (and still am with my own firm). I was fortunate enough not to get a steady job after completing my undergrad, which allowed to me to keep learning and tasting the great buffet of life. I completed two additional qualifications while working a whole bunch of temp jobs. All of this hopping about exposed me to an array of work and learning experiences I love talking to my students about. Learning is awesome and it continues on for me with the amazing PIDP at VCC!
